Team Building Lesson
Team Building Lesson
Rationale/Reflection
I included this lesson in my portfolio because it represents standard four, Multiple Instructional Strategies, so well. This standard states that the "teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strateies to encourage student's development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills." In this lesson, the students were presented with the task of creating an obstacle course using equipment that had been chosen for them. Students worked in small groups to strategize, plan and create. The students worked well together and were excited to get started on the task when it was presented to them. They enjoyed working together and having the freedom to create. They spent time in discussion before getting to work on creating their course. While creating their course they helped each other put each piece in place before presenting it to the class. The students were proud of their accomplishments and were successful throughout this lesson.
